Invitation to all Runners and Walkers:
The Intraining Running Centre invites runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to take part in the inaugural Twilight Half Marathon, 10km, 3km and 1km for kids on April 5.

ONLINE ENTRIES
Online Entries will be available from the end of January. There will be a link from the Intraining website homepage.

ORGANISERS:
The Twilight Half Marathon is organised by the Intraining Running Centre, Park Road Milton. The 2009 Event Management Team executive is Steve Manning, Linda Watson, Naomi Tutticci, Margot Manning and Ricky Swindale.

START/FINISH:
ALL events will start/finish at the Athletics Track the University of Qld at St Lucia.

Half Marathon          5:30pm
10km Run/Walk          5:30pm
3km Run/Walk          5:45pm
1km kids race           6:15pm

THE COURSE:
The course is now finalised subject to a certified accurate measurement. The half marathon and 10km start together at 5:30pm. They start on Sir William Macgregor Drive about 80M past the intersection of Sir Fred Schonell Drive. They then run out to the green bridge and run over on the upriver cycle pathway. At the other end of the bridge they turn right and loop under the bridge to the Brisbane Corso. The turn around is just before the end of the Corso. They then return the same way except that they cross back on the downriver pedestrian path of the green bridge. When the runners get back to the Athletics track the 10km runners split off and enter at the 100M start and run clockwise around the track to finish in the middle of the home straight. The half marathoners continue along Sir William Macgregor Drive past the start and turnaround before the intersection of Sir Fed Schonell Drive. They then repeat the course with two exceptions. When they get to the green bridge they continue past the bridge to turn before Thynne Road and then return to run over the bridge. The turnaround on the Corso is also after the 10km turn. These differences are to make up for extra 1.1km. The 3km is a simple out and back run along the same route and does not include the green bridge at this stage. The 1km kids race will be entirely off road.

An evening run. What a great and novel concept (and I am truly trying not to be biased here!) for Brisbane running. See you all there.

I did a long run around the river last night as a test for next Sunday. It was great running as the temps cooled and the sun went down. Bring on the Twilight HM.

1:30, (4:16) 42:39
1:35, (4:30) 45:01
1:40, (4:44) 47:24
1:45, (4:59) 49:46
1:50, (5:13) 52:08
1:55, (5:27) 54:30
2:00, (5:41) 56:52

As the 1.24 pacer I did a practice 8km yesterday. Almost spot on. 31.46. Now, am I supposed to run 1.24 or 1.23. 59? That 1 second makes all the difference you know.
