I've just seen the photos from Sporting Images of the Twilight Half, fantastic. Dont know whether it was because of the darkness but as with the run they provide a different view of running. Great Pics, especially the ones 100mm from the end. Everyone please check yourself out although you may have to search hard like I did, but its worth it. Great event.

Chatterbox, what are you talking about?  There was the kids 1km and the 3km for those who aren't club runners.  There was an easter egg hunt for the kids etc.  Most of the show was to do with running yes, well that was why the whole event was held.  And yes there is a lot of club talk and encouragement to join Intraining as a member, but why is that so bad?

If you do feel left out why don't you become regularly involved and hey you have joined the forum so maybe it has begun already.

I feel sorry for the Intraining guys for having to read such demoralising posts.

Hey! I don't remember posting that about race fees... Confused I think I was left logged on at the shop.

I think that a few oversights in the set up paid off with a few bungles during the race but I think if anyone is passionate about passing judgement on the event you should first stop and ask - what could I have done to help?
This was a community event that ran at a loss to the organisers. Many of the volunteers who agreed to lend a hand did not show up and therefore things were not getting done to schedule.
Im sure that this event will be back bigger and stronger next year, but without the support from the running community by helping to pack race bags, setting up and packing up, race organisers can not support the running community with an event that runs smoothly and without problems.

Redirect your passion towards lending a hand at races and you will not have to send angry emails afterwards.
I'm sure race@intraining.com.au would love to hear from you if you are able to help out at other events.

And as for the 3k... Embarrassed Your IQ drops a fair number of points when you are belting towards a finish line at sub 3min k pace with another guy 2 seconds behind you. If I come into a stadium and see a tunnel of witches hats and bunting in front of me, unless told otherwise I'm going to darn well head straight towards them!

Congratulations to all who ran and thank you to the organisers for putting on such a fantastic event. Any race that gives out muffins at the end has a special place in my Heart.

Happy Running!

As for the medal v keyring dilema - If it were really a problem to me I would be cutting off the ring and replacing it with a 20c length of ribbon from spotlight - *voila* keyring to medal in seconds Smile

Good response Aidan.  I came in about 2 or so minutes behind and by then a marshall was waving us aroung the track.  You are right though if I was in your position I would have headed straight fo the finish line LOL.  hehe
